Tell the Truth Tuesday

1. I've become a Goodreads junkie. I have no idea how it happened, but lately I've been obsessing over the people who want to read LIAR SOCIETY rather than obsessively checking StatCounter. Sort of makes me long for the simple days when a hit from NYC was enough to make my entire afternoon.

2. Madonna's "youthful glow" freaks me out. Like, a lot. I can't help but imagine her sacrificing virgins to achieve that kind of skin at 52.

3. I love me some Chuck Bass, but when I saw this I couldn't help but wonder WTF Chuck? Where's the purple? Isn't that like his signature color?

4. Sunday night is my new favorite night of the week. Between Mad Men and True Blood there is no better night for TV.

5. Late-night-chocolate-covered-Twizzler-craving-Lisa, REALLY hates sensible-Lisa who unfortunately does all of the grocery shopping.

6. Laura is trying really hard to give me a pep talk right now, but I'm ignoring her. It's really hard to feel peppy when you have a small human trying to claw its way out of you. Yeah, being knocked up in 90 degree weather really doesn't agree with me.

7. One problem with having a tiny human trying to claw its way out of you is that my husband has now enforced curfew again. I think he's mistaking bitterness for exhaustion. Either way, if I'm not in bed by 11 PM tonight he's going to hide my MacBook. Bastard.

9. We're working on a new project. We have an outline and everything. But we're scared to write it. Really scared.

10. We're obsessed with Mark Ruffalo. He was ridiculously hot in The Kids Are All Right. Plus, it's a really fantastic movie.

11. Laura has to finish this blog post because I'm one minute away from missing curfew. Shit.

12. Lisa just sent me a text presumably from her bed. I predict her BlackBerry AND MacBook will be missing tomorrow.

13. I've toned down Bitter Lisa in this post. She is not going to be happy.

So, what's your truth this Tuesday?

I've decided that when my kids are sixteen. I'm waking them up at the crack of dawn, and ask them a gazillion questions while their brain is trying to wake up.

I'm trying to figure out why WiP#3 MCs talk to me. When I sit down at my laptop to type their story, they disappear like socks in the dryer.

Good luck gals!

O.k. so as you can see above the brain is not functioning.I really should wait to comment till later in the day.
just add -ing to ask --thanks.

Goodreads rocks and I'm still waiting patiently for Liar Society (Okay patiently isn't exactly what I'd call it, I just bought my calendar yesterday and you are listed on the top of my calender, I'll have to twit pic it later and show you!) not to mention it's releasing in the best month ever!!!

My truths? I wish I could spend all day writing and revising in my house while it's pouring down rain. Instead? Sitting in a white walled warehouse working on a work project with the sun slowly peeking through the clouds.

SO unfair.

You two crazy kids...my truth is that I revealed my face in yesterday's post. Yeah, you heard right.

4) You forgot Entourage. I can't stay up that late but I do DVR it.

Also I don't get Mad Men yet. I've only just started watching it and while the sets and styling seems very authentic, and the performances are top notch, I haven't caught on to all the appeal yet. It's a good show, don't get me wrong, but it seems a little dull so far. I guess I'll just have to keep watching.

Mad Men continues to amaze. Peggy was killing me. I want her clothes!

1. The socks in the dryer thing caused me to shoot coffeee out of my nose...

2. I'm bitter too at the moment... because I'm having to fight tooth and nail for ANY time to work on my writing... an overprotective hubby would be slaughtered... which is why I'm single...

3. My FAVORITE tv show right now is Rizzoli and Isles... I aspire to BE Rizzoli...

4. I may do something bad if I can't arrange my life so that writing takes center stage... working so I can write isn't cutting it any more... I need to write for my keep...

5. I resent stupid books that give nothing to the world getting lots of attention for purely commercial reasons... I mean the Biebster has a 'memoir' coming out and he's still wearing training pants...

Every time I watch Hoarders, I have to clean something. Last night, I went through the pile of papers on the coffee table. Yeah. I felt better.

Chocolate covered Twizzlers, nice. Truth: I never, ever take vacations. Took one last week and rather enjoyed the time away.

Stina Lindenblatt said...

Eek, pregnacy and hot weather totally sucks. My last was a winter baby (cold Canada winter baby), and even then, I was still hot.

My truth. I'm on vacation. But I'm still getting up at 5:30 am to blog!!! (and beta read/write) Okay, real truth. I can't let Mathew Rush get too far ahead of me on the comments left on this blog. Srsly, did he ever NOT comment here???? ;)

Chocolate-covered twizzlers? Oh my god, I'm not getting that out of my head until I eat some now. Thanks a lot.

My Tuesday truth: I know damned well I look like I dressed for a safari today, yet I am not going to acknowledge a single look from my coworkers suggesting this is true.

An August pregnancy...sending cool waves of air your way. I feel for you:) I'm going crazy while my ms is out to betas and an editor with a strong red pen. Last night I ate a theater-size box of Nerds--crunched em like a junkie getting a fix.

Going camping without a plug SCARES me! I might have to hijack someone elses! I'm serious.

I have the last chapter of my wip to write, but I'm scared I won't do it justice, so I stayed up till 3am just staring at the computer screen, not writing anything. Bah....

Sometimes I want to home school my kids just so I don't have to get up at 6am every friggin morning. Then I talk myself out of it, because they'd be, like, home... ;)

I stopped drinking caffeine 5 days ago, and I'm seriously cranky.

Living in the south makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes. Small mindedness kills me...

I want to take away my 9 year old's cell phone b/c every time she leaves the house she blows up my phone with random pictures of her friends, her friends baby niece, her friends tree in the backyard... but I say nothing b/c then I sound like a sleep deprived, caffeine-free bitch...

Wow, did I ramble there, or what? Sorry! :)

Oh, I thought I was a the only one with a Mark Ruffalo crush! I've been in love with him for years. I saw him in 2001 at the Sundance film festival! He did a Q & A for a movie called XX/XY.

Tell your fear of starting the new project to SHUT UP.

My truth, sometimes I hide chocolate or sweets in my desk drawer and eat them stealth-like in one sitting.

I have no self control with chocolate.

Marsha Sigman said...

1) I talk about the characters in True Blood as if they were real...and I'm really worried about Eric.

2) I have loved Mark Ruffalo since 13 Going on 30. He is extremely hot in a guy next door that you daydream about seducing sort of way.

3) I have ugly next door neighbors.

Elana Johnson said...

My truth is that I'm very overwhelmed and avoiding things by reading blogs. Starting here.

Sarah Enni said...

My truth is I am not working but reading blogs instead! And now, drooling over Mark Ruffalo with you. *Drools*

My truth is that Madonna's arms creep me out even more than her face! Yikes!

You guys make my day. I love it - you say what I want to say, how I wish I could say it! Love IT!

Love numbers 2 and 6. I hear ya on the little human trying to get out. I'm 30 weeks along now and this summer has been awful (especially because I don't have central air in my house...).

My tell the truth is that I have also started a new project. I have the idea but have no clue how to tell the story. No clue what's supposed to happen, who the villain is, what the conflict is, etc., so I really haven't started it. I keep putting it off.

My babies were born in April & Nov so I didn't really have to deal with the heat - thank all the deities! That's a nightmare. Good luck! *hugs*

My truth - I love the MC in my new wip, but I'm stuck on how to get her going - she's stalling right now!

Dawn Simon said...

Love your truths. #7 especially cracked me up. And good luck on the new project! Woo-hoo!

My truth? I made my very first blueberry pie today. Since I'm not really chef-like, I'm obnoxiously proud of it. I just sent my hubby an e-mail with a picture of the pie. My dad, too. The pie is really imperfect-looking, but I don't really mind. I bet people who regularly make pies don't take pictures of them.

Truth:

1. You cannot walk into my walk in closet. You need a pair of hiking boots and an ice pick. My husband is staging a coup and hiding things to motivate me to clean. I just go to Target and replace the things he hides to avoid going into my closet.

2. I hate my hair. Fausto must have been having an off week.

3. I am thinking about buying an entire bottle of Botox.

4. I want super powers. That may not be a secret.

5. I suddenly want to go to the store and find chocolate covered Twizzlers.
