It's starting to feel like spring in our world so we got outside yesterday. The kids were bare-armed, smiling, sticky-fingered and squinting back the sun. And then, after baths and showers, one more book, a favorite song and sheets tucked up under chins, we settled in for our usual Internet shenanigans. It looks something like:
1. Check Sunday's PostSecrets
2. Check Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr
3. Read updated When Parents Text
4. Check stock on Barnes and Noble
Shortly after Lisa completed number 4, I received the following text: "Um...check b and n for our zip code. Did grandma harrass every store?" Our Grandmother has been known to call every Barnes and Nobles near her just to be sure they are stocking our book. So really, we wouldn't put it past her. But not only is our book carried in all of the B&Ns near us, but most of the B&Ns in other zip codes we plugged in. We're kind of thinking we're stocked in most of the Barnes and Noble stores across the United States!
Now, for many authors, this might not be a big deal. But for us???? This is a HUGE victory! Throughout the course of our release month, our book could be found at one or two stores in most major cities. But now it appears as though we're stocked more widely. We've learned a lot throughout this book publishing process, but one of the most important lessons we've learned is to celebrate victories. So...woohoo!
Granted, we have no idea what this means (if anything). We also understand that this might be a computer error or perhaps a mistake, but we'll take it. (Note to blog readers: If you visit B&N and don't find a copy of Liar Society, don't tell us. Probably best that we don't know.) In the meantime, flowers are blooming, we've packed away our winter coats and we're stocked in B&N, baby.
Happy Monday!
P.S.
In even BETTER news, Part 1 of Kimberly Derting's iClue is UP! Check it!

Huge victory, girls, is right! Amazing job, although I'm not surprised. Great job.
Congrats! That's awesome news :)
Yay for spunky grandmas!
That's great news about the B&N stock! I think.
I don't get on Twitter (or the internet much at all) on weekends, so I missed your fun, but I did just see you mention Chipotle. Their Barbacoa cannot be beat!
YESS!! Awesome news, ladies!
OH MY HECK! I took a picture of your book in my B&N in Utah, and never sent it. #ElanaFAIL. And trust me, you want to see it.
It was displayed on an ENDCAP. With MATCHED. No lie. I'll email it now.
It is so important to celebrate the victories. Congrats
Nothing is more frustrating that discovering a book you're pumped to read isn't even available in the stores near you. That's why I just order books online. :D
Woohoo! That's awesome. And yes, I did see some copies at my B&N!
Well, go Grandma!
I saw it here, too, and snagged my copy off the shelf!
Yay! Congrats! It was definitely at the B&N Alz went to because that's where she got her copy! :)
That is AWESOME! I would totally back grandma's play too.
It clearly means that people WANT TO READ YOUR BOOK. Which is awesome, but not surprising. ;)
Congrats!! I bought mine online, so I didn't check my B&N but if it's missing when I go in I'll ask that they stock it. Just call me grandma.
I just bought my copy in the B&N near my job (in NYC) last week! It was facing out on a shelf with other new titles, and there were several copies out to choose from. :) I'm really excited to read it!
i mean, i know it's not far from the cleve, but kate is definitely in b&n in pickerington ohio. i may have squealed.
AHHHH! That's fantastic! Definitely a victory. Such great news to hear on a Monday!
That's awesome news! I've made my bookstore order copies so it'll be in my town soon; can't wait to turn your books face out! :)
Sad to say I have NOOOO B&N within a 3 hour distance. So, thank goodness for Amazon!! Enjoy the victory ladies!
