Tell The Truth Tuesday

1. I don't care what all the haters say, The Hunger Games trailer rocked my socks off. This movie is going to be EPIC. So epic that I have big plans to talk The Regulator, Dad Roecker and Laura into a midnight screening event of some sort. If you're wondering why the 3rd Roecker sister isn't invited it's because she has a strict rule against movies with battle scenes.

2.  I saw this link on Twitter about cats giving you incentive to write. I'm not gonna lie. I sat at in front of my computer and wrote "What the $%&* is this?" 20 times to see what would happen. Suffice it to say that I was extraordinarily unimpressed with the outcome.

3. I watch Pan Am. And oh my good God you guys, it is 31 flavors of AWFUL. By far the most ludicrious show on television and yet it makes the perfect background for day job writing. And so on my DVR it shall remain.

4. I'm a floor-o-rexic. That's right. I use clean kitchen floors as a means to maintain control of my life. Laura just diagnosed me with this terrible disease last night when I confessed to her that I've been washing my kitchen floor on my hands and knees almost every single night. Bear in mind, the room directly next to my kitchen looks like a hoarders paradise of clean, yet unfolded clothes, backpacks and approximately 300 pairs of shoes. I have no idea why the kitchen floor is so important to me, but there is nothing that makes my blood boil like watching Mia bite into a graham cracker. I get chills just thinking about it.

5. I have yet to purchase a single Christmas present. I'm in holidenial. (See what I did right there? I'm the queen of word mash-ups this week.)

6. While Laura is on her maternity leave I plan on doing nothing but reading for 6 weeks straight. It is going to be AWESOME. So many books. So much slacking. I can't hardly wait.

OK, spill your guts. What's your truth this Tuesday?

There are Hunger Games haters? What's wrong with them?

And I have to say, I didn't much care for Peeta in the book (at least by comparison to Gale), but I've loved (in a total bro crush way) Josh Hutcherson since A Bridge to Terabithia, so I'm thinking he'll play it well.

Also: Woody Harrelson is Haymitch. Did you see what I wrote there? Woody Harrelson is Haymitch!

Sounds like fun to take a 6 week reading break. I haven't gotten any presents either.

Oh, I loved the trailer too! Can't wait for the movie (though I worry it won't be as good as the book).

I haven't watched the trailer yet. I'm so worried about the characters not looking 'right' & the tone not being 'right'. I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the movie because I loved the book so much. We'll see... :)

I don't even want to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Then again, I don't want to watch The Hunger Games trailer either. I'll see the movie when I see it - no spoilers ahead of time.

Bah! I have no Xmas presents purchased. It's my mom in law's birthday this weekend and I don't have a gift for her. This is the way of life. I am ever grateful for Amazon prime.
And I saw no haters...are there haters?? Because I normally am very snarky about movies from books but this one seems to have gotten things right!

THE HUNGER GAMES! So far everyone in my office has seen it and LOVED it. Some are avid readers, some just love all things awesome... yeah, I'm that lucky.

People thing I'm crazy when my DVR fills up with AWFULNESS... glad to know you and are on the same page. As they say, it only takes one ;)

As for Christmas presents, I'm in the same boat. Is it okay that I'm creating a list in my mind?? That counts... right? Right?

The Hunger Games trailer! I love it so much I keep going back to watch it. Forget about Christmas, when do we get to March????

Pleasantly surprised by that trailer, actually!

LOL, holidenial. I'm a last minute shopper. Every Year. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? ;)

Pan Am??? Really???? Ugh. But I LOVE your word mash-ups! :-)

Your word mash-ups are A+!

Hunger Games trailer made movie look better than I expected, so I'm tentatively optimistic. On the other hand, some things didn't quite click for me. :P

I actually teared up at that Hunger Games trailer. I may be pms'n.

I never buy gifts until 2 weeks before Christmas then I do a desperate mad weekend of marathon shopping. It works for me.

I have read so many books in the last few weeks my own life is starting to feel a little unreal. I sort of like it.

I do the exact thing, except I need to get the whole kitchen shiny. *sigh*

You mean some people didn't like the Hunger Games trailer? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?!?! Even my mom, sister, and brother who have never read the books liked it. :P

Who could possibly hate that trailer?? It made me cry. Yes, I'm a baby. Or else having a baby has made me hormonal. One or the other. ;)

I love the trailer. So did my 11 yo. At least the make up way looks better than in another best-seller-YA-novel-to-movie movie. ;)

Cant' wait to see it. I would be more than happy to skip over winter just so March 23rd can come that much sooner. :D

obsessed with the hunger games! been waiting for this movie since the book first game out! how if only they'd make a movie of my other favorite series "Hex" by Rhiannon Lassiter. a girl can dream!

p.s. adore the blog! a few weeks ago i started "Truth is... Tuesdays" inspired by the recent facebook trend and it was so fun to run across other blogs that do something similar (though obviously much longer than i have)

Don't call this a comeback

So it’s been a minute. Or 10. Or truthfully more like 2,102,400. At least we think that’s how many minutes there are in 3 years, but let...
