Introducing Laura and Lisa Write

My solo blog internship will officially begin tomorrow. Although if I know my big sister, she won't stay away for long. In fact, she's been sending me a few last minute texts* just to be sure I don't break the blog...

Lisa: u ready?
Laura: um...r u ready? u know ur having a baby, right?
Lisa: yeah, yeah, just dont forget about bookinistas and schedule posts for 6 am...and facebook, and twitter, and...
Laura: what are the bookinistas again?
Lisa: laura!
Laura: kidding, kidding. i. can. do. this. go 2 sleep, u know ur going to be up every 3 hours until x-mas, right?
Lisa: jack slept through night at a month. best. baby. ever.
Laura: um, r u forgetting mia? she still doesn't sleep through the night.
Lisa: i hate u.
Laura: take ur time. i'll be fine. i have all sorts of fun posts planned. oh...and do you think theres a way to change our blog name to laura and lisa write?
Lisa: thats it. changing password. we can go dark for a few wks
Laura: take a joke hormonster
Lisa: not. funny.
Laura: don't try anything funny or i'll report you to ken
Lisa: you are evil. the power has gone to your head.
Laura: muwhahahaha.

So...you guys are stuck with moi--well, at least for a little while. Lisa will be clawing her way back to her MacBook in no time at all. Maybe I'll have to transcribe a few of her new mama truths for Tuesday.

In the meantime, welcome to Laura and Lisa Write, bitches. The blog where second sisters rule and the number of followers drops by the hour.

You hear that sound? It's Lisa sobbing from her delivery room.

This is going to be fun.

*We are now forced to communicate primarily through text because Skype is banned and our husbands want to divorce us after having to listen to our phone conversations all night.

Laura, baby! For once I actually know who I'm talking to when I comment on your blog, which is rather a novelty for me.

And now I'm wondering if I can instigate any trouble, since, y'know, I kinda have your ear exclusively at the moment. But then I guess you find your own trouble pretty effectively, and anyhow, Lisa'll be reading the comments on her iPhone between contractions, and I wouldn't want to upset her. Maybe I won't instigate, then.

Boy, *that* was a short-lived revolution, wasn't it? It wasn't televised, in case you were wondering.

Oh, and best wishes to big sis with the delivery. Congratulations in advance, Lisa! (And to you, Laura, on the new nephew/niece.)

I'm out. Peace.

Wait. There are two of you? I thought you were Siamese twins. No?

Thank god you'll keep posting at 6AM. That way I can keep beating Simon to the punch as usual.

What? He commented already? Crap. He's probably been up all night, crying into his Vodka as he kills off another character. Sneaky bast -

This was great. I can only imagine those phone conversations. and I don't think you're going to break the blog!

Laura, you RAWK! Really, and your big sis knows that. Please tell me she's not taking her Droid or Blackberry into the birthing room???

Hah. LOL.

Even though I'm the oldest of four sisters I have a personal philosophy that little sisters RULE. So, on that note, go on and RULE. You know you can. Own it.

Just don't tell Lisa.

LOL. Babies # 2 and 3 didn't sleep through the night until they were 13 months for me. Hopefully, Lisa, your new little joy will be more like Jack. And if not. Heck, think of all the ideas that will come to you in your half dazed state of delirium.

And don't worry, Laura. No one is going to abandon you. We love you too much.

Power to the younger sisters!!!

(Being one myself, I have permission to shout such things.)

So....the baby comes?

Haha! That's awesome. Poor Lisa. Talk about a total WTF Wednesday for her. But I wish her the very best! Babies are so sweet and cute and good smelling, and we all know Lisa's baby is going to sleep through the night first thing. *shifty eyes*

Congrats on your hijack, Laura! And big congrats to Lisa on 3rd-time's-a-charm-motherhood!

Lisa, good luck with your labor and delivery! (and getting the blog back)

You two are hilarious. Loved the text conversation. I think it would be awesome to write a novel with my one sister. Although we might end up killing each other. Might be worth a shot though. :)

All the best to Lisa and the baby! (Post pix!)

Laura, why do I have that Muse song "Uprising" playing in my mind?

Joanne R. Fritz said...

And all this time I thought you were one person with two personalities... hee hee.

Love this line: "...where second sisters rule and the number of followers drops by the hour." I seriously doubt that. You're hilarious, Laura.

Good luck to Lisa and hope she can sleep sooner rather than later.
