Thank You

Three years ago if somebody would have asked us if we ever thought we'd make an actual friend on the Internet, we would have said no. We also might have referenced Date Line's "To Catch a Predator" and suggested that online friendships are creepy. We were still scarred from our AOL days when Stacey was caught instant messaging with some sketchy old dude.

But that was before we were welcomed into this incredibly supportive and loving community of writers. Not only have we met amazing beta readers, congratulated friends on snagging an agent, selling a book, starting a new project or completing an old one, but we've made real, live friends. Friends who know more about us than most of the ones we've grown up with.

Thank you so much for all of your well-wishes on Friday. We feel so lucky to have met such wonderful people and hope we can thank you to your face one of these days.

P.S.: We also feel confident that you guys might dissuade us from hitting up a club heading to a book signing dressed in this number.

And for that we are eternally grateful.

P.P.S.
Editorial note from Lisa - Am still not allwoed to touch my Mac. Been hidden by evil husband. BUT i have figured ot how to add to posts via my fancy phone. MWA HAHA. Er, probably shouldnt laugh that loud considering this is most likely riddled withy typos. Just want to thank all of you for your comments last week. Ben and I are doing great and we're completely blown away by your well wishes. And holy crap, Laura is totally showing me up, right? It's pure evil. I never should have allowed it. I'll be back. As soon as I cna figure out where my husband hid my damn laptop. XOXO

I feel certain that neither of you -- no matter how sleep-deprived from new-motherhood or adrenalin-high from a kickin' Amazon rank -- would ever appear in public dressed like Miley.

And Lisa, kudos on learning how to edit posts from your phone! Awesome!

I second the Miley notion, lets avoid all dangerous slutty attire... just not a good luck!!!

I'm glad all is well in the world of Lisa and Laura and look forward to you finding your MAC and getting back to full speed ahead!!

Until then enjoy the quiet, even if you feel like you're suffocating.

Wow, Lisa, you did an amazing job editing from your cell phone. You are unstoppable.

Laura, I think you should wear that outfit to your book signings. Think of all the reluctant readers (guys of course) who will be excited to read your book. ;)

Then it would be nominated for Best Book For Reluctant Readers. :D

Oh Miley, what were you thinking?!?!

You better hide your phone so it doesn't get hidden too lol!

I think you're the ones that need to be thanked for the amazing help you've offered so many of us. You guys are great! And when I do meet you, please be wearing the Miley outfit. It's beyond spectacular.

I love it! Internet friends are pretty great, hm? People still look at me funny when I tell them I blog. I think they expect me to be nerdier. I, however, keep my pocket protector in my purse.

Yeah, there are a lot of creepy people online - especially at dating websites - but that's how I found my husband, and most of the writing friends I have. And, of course, you guys. I'm so glad I found this blog, I should probably be the one thanking you. =o)

Oh yeah, I'd definitely dissuade you from going on like that. Eww. The only people dressed like that in public should be trying to pick up sailors at the wharf.

As for the picture, let me just say eeeewwwww! Heaven help us all if I ever dress that way. Have an awesome day.

If you dress like that at a book signing, guys'll buy your book, lol

And that's awesome that you figured out that you can edit from your phone, Lisa. You'll be back before you know it!

Your ability to post from a phone is wildly impressive.

Yay for online friends! I'm always amazed when I make new ones!

That pic of Miley reminds me of a SNL sketch from this past weekend in which Miley has her own talk show. Funny stuff.

LOL!! I knew you would find a way. I just figured out how to send a picture with my phone so I am wayyy impressed with your skills.

Also, that is so not a book signing outfit! That's a walmart shopping outfit...duh.

Ok, how in the world did I miss Friday's post?? Congrats to you, Lisa and your sweet baby boy!! Gorgeous!! :)

Ben is the name of my male m/c in the ms I am querying right now. His mom calls him Benny. :)

You two are so awesome and hilarious, this is one of the first blogs I started following when I got on the online writing community. It's been helpful, but mainly encouraging - what's better on one of those 'I can't do this' days then a healthy helping of giggles? :)
And again, very many congratulations on Benjamin!

I have to say, I saw the words "To Catch a Predator" and that photo of Miley and I thought this post was going in a completely different direction!

It's really cool to hear about your experience and friendships in the electronic world. I'm just starting to take the plunge and parts of it still intimidate me.

Yikes - pretty sure there's no fear of showing up in that outfit anywhere!!!

So glad to hear Lisa & Ben are doing well. Enjoy the moments :)

I so feel this too. When I first started online, I was like, "Uh..." but now it's a great place to find the support and encouragement I often need!
