So it’s been a minute. Or 10. Or truthfully more like 2,102,400. At least we think that’s how many minutes there are in 3 years, but let...

Yeah, the Secret Agent is tough this time around and we're trying to figure out how to address her critiques while maintaining our vision for the book. Our style doesn't really lend itself to super-scary. We were going for slightly creepy with a fun voice. Bummer that most people seem to like it ASIDE from the one person we were really trying to impress. Ugh. Just not sure how to fix it.
Great attitude. There's nothing like getting critiqued. Nothing. Sometimes I'd rather swim in razor blades and then shower in rubbing alcohol rather than put my work up for critique. :)
And my verification word is "herrif". That's how a kid with a speech impediment talks...lol
Ugh - I'm whining. Sorry. I'll feel so much better once we've figured out how to make our opening perfect.
Oh, I meant that Georgina! It was right before SA's post.
I think Secret Agent's comment showed promise. She did say: I do, however, think the overall concept is potentially sound and intriguing.
I think it might just be a matter of tightening the screws some.
But geez! She only went through three entries! I'm dying over here!
I know! I bet she'll crit more tonight. It's actually probably a good thing that she's taking her time. I'm not sure anyone would want to be the 40th entry she critted right in a row. (and yes, I think Georgina is tougher than the SA! Have you seen her other critiques? Ouch.)
I think I've made some headway on our opening...can't wait to show Laura.
Elana - I'm so glad that we're not the only ones out there dreading critiques. It's a very humbling experience. But it makes our work so much better, so I suppose it's worth the pain...
