You Learn Something New Every Week...

So here's what I've learned so far this week:

1. 90% of the people who randomly find our blog stumble upon us by googling "Bitch Please." And there was one person who found us by searching for "overalls cameltoe." Nice.

2. I REALLY hate those Old Navy commercials with the mannequins. Seriously, Old Navy? You can't think of anything better than talking, potentially knocked up, mannequins?

3. When given the choice between refreshing e-mail and sleep, I'll almost always choose refreshing e-mail.

4. Watching the season finale of Lost gives me a gnarly headache. What's going to happen when I watch the series finale next year? Spontaneous head combustion seems like the most likely scenario.

5. Waiting makes me crabby. Really crabby.

6. I sort of want Izzy to die on Grey's. (Note: This is not a spoiler. Haven't even watched the finale yet.) I'm not sure if this statement reflects on me as a person or more on my current state of mind. See, I told you waiting makes me crabby.

7. I wouldn't mind it if people assume that Laura and I are life-partners instead of sisters. I mean that would be WAY more interesting than the reality, right?

8. When you're really desperate for any kind of news, things like asking your younger sister who's never even read a book, let alone attempted to get a book published ("That's like my worst nightmare. Ever." Direct quote.) how soon she thinks you'll hear back from editors seems like a really good idea. And then when she answers "I bet you'll hear back soon, like Friday," you find yourself really wanting to believe her.

9. My husband wants to watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I don't really want to get into what this says about him as a man (I'd tell you exactly why he decided to watch, but it would be pushing our PG-blog rating) or what it says about me as a wife that I could care less about the reason. I'm just really excited to have a partner-in-viewing-crime.

10. Patience really is a virtue and it's something I seriously need to work on. And not only for things like waiting to hear back from editors on our manuscript, but the important stuff like being more understanding of people in general. Ugh. Me = patience fail.

Have a fab weekend everyone! I'm sure we'll be drinking enough wine for all of you combined.

Those Old Navy commercials are just horrible, SO HORRIBLE! They are the worst they have ever done. The ones from the last few years I rather liked with the nice music and the atmospheric people just doing stuff in clothes. They need to bring those back!

:) It is Friday. I don't know why, but I'm feeling all aflutter. Is that even a word? Who cares, right? Waiting with you...

Since I have pulled most of my waiting issues *winks dumbly,

I don't have much waiting in the works. But now writing. THAT I need to do!

I love that your hubby wants to watch the housewives! too funny!

And I love that Elana is "aflutter!" Go Baby, Go!

You guys are gonna SCORE! I'm not even worried :-)

Rolling! Absolutely rolling at your blog post. Life partners...*snicker*

Hope your waiting ends with good news!

Amen about the Old Navy commercials! Can it get any worse than that? Only when an insurance commercial comes on I suppose. I don't know though. It's a tough call.

Here's hoping your sister is right! Today would be a great day for it! (Well, any day for that matter...)

The waiting sux to say the least - hey maybe I am crabby too! :)

I sort of wish everyone on Grey's would die so they could start over again and make it about the hospital with the people as a side story instead of about the annoying people with the hospital as the sidestory. But that's just my opinion.

How do you run the search on who finds your blog and under which search words? I'd love to know that!

Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you guys :)

UGH! With you on the waiting! It's insufferable! In fact, just started a blog post called "waiting" but then couldn't figure out what to write. It was just a long blank post. Ha!

Waiting is KILLER! Especially over weekends. And I promise that email-refreshing business NEVER goes away. Not even after the book deal. Wait and see :)

I think there's a Tom Petty song that expresses your sentiments . . ."the wa-ai-ting is the hardest part." And, it is. I mean, it is if you're waiting. It's torture.

These are the moments when I would like to have the wicked witch's crystal ball in the Wizard of Oz. Remember when she showed Dorothy the image of Aunt Em all worried? Wouldn't it be cool if you could watch the editors reading your manuscript and laughing and crying and hugging it to their chest while writing huge checks???

Oh I loathe the Old Navy commercials. I think their marketing team is trying to sabotage them or something. It's working.

How do you find out what people search to end up at your blog? That's so funny that "Bitch please" leads the most people to your blog.

Alea and Kat - I'm so glad I'm not alone in my hatred for the Old Navy commercials.

Elana - Any news? Yes? No? Please?

Katie - I love you. You totally crack me up. Anyone who can wink dumbly is a-ok in my book.

Jeannie - Thanks! Pretty soon you'll be in the same boat, right?

Nisa - I'm with you. Any day would be a good day for news. What can I say, I'm desperate.

Shelli - Well you know what they say...misery loves company.

Cindy - Ha! I kind of agree with you. It's all so whiney sometimes. Ugh. But I keep watching...guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Tess/Kat - All you need to install statcounter on your blog. Just go to the website and follow the instructions. So easy and so much fun to obsess over. As if we needed one more thing to obsess about, but whatever. It's fun.

Corey - I think a blank post would sum up my feelings around waiting perfectly.

Becca - I'm sort of happy to hear that fancy soon-to-be published authors like yourself still obsess over e-mail. You should post pictures of you checking your e-mail on your blog. It would be just like that US Weekly section: Stars - They're just like us! Only this time it would say: Published Authors - They're just like us! No? Bad idea? Well, the waiting does have me a little loopy.

SF - I LOVE the crystal ball idea. Make it happen. Well, as long as we don't have to watch editors using our MS as toilet paper or anything. That would be rough. Literally.

I haven't watched Grey's Anatomy since the first season. Die, Izzy, Die.

I want to run the old navy mannequins in my truck? Does that make me crazy?

I missed a few episodes of Lost, and now, well, I'm Lost.

I'm going out to eat now. Oh yes, there will be wine.

Very contrary for me. I stumbled upon Becca Fitzpatrick's blog when I saw her blurb in my Publishers Lunch email. I stumbled upon your blog when she mentioned you for mentioning her for ... something. Maybe a blog award? And I first saw Bitch Pleez! on your website. I figured, "Hey ... they have a sense of humor. How bad can they be? AND they're going through the whole agent-revisions process. And wait ... livejournal's not the only blogging spot?" And so my blog stalking obsession began.

I'm totally fine with Izzy dying on Grey's too. She annoys me.

Ok, so I left that random comment on that random post about guest posting. I accidentally clicked over from an older post in my reader. Sorry about that. I'm still very interested in you guest posting. Please email me if you would like to do it. :)

For me, Friday's the hardest day because I know if I don't get news today, then I have to wait ALLLLLL the way till Monday again. And we all know that's FOREVER!

Consider it doing your part for the economy...somebody's got to keep the wineries afloat, right?

I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only one who hates the Old Navy commercials! They're awful!

OMG! We need to start a movement. I HATE the Old Navy mannequins. Did you know that they have names?! I almost fell over when I saw their print ads on a plane from SLC. Names! I wrote about the travesty that is the Old Navy marketing madness in February!

Sam - Amazing how wine makes everything just a little bit better, right?

Jess - Welcome! We love blog stalkers, heck we ARE blog stalkers! And I love how Bitch Please continues to bring us all together. That sketch is genius.

Jen - We'd love to do a guest blog! Send us an e-mail (lisa-laura(at)live.com) What an honor! Thanks!

Kimberly - You are so in our heads. We just discussed that very thing.

Grey/LMJ - We need to start a movement against Old Navy! I love LMJ's mannequin theories. My personal favorite is the reincarnation theory. I can't imagine a more fitting punishment for a label whore than an eternity spent watching sweaty Americans purchase discount sportswear. Fantastic. I swear we're all long lost sisters.

Danyelle - Thanks for giving that waiting period a piece of your mind. Let's hope he listens.

Haha, I actually like those Old Navy commercials. They make me chuckle.
