Get Fired Up With LiLa in NYC

LiLa is hitting the Big Apple! That's right, we've booked our discount airfare and reserved a room at the swanky Hampton Inn (we travel in style, people) because we're officially attending The Sourcebooks Fire Launch Party.

Get. Excited.

So, here's the deets:

Time: March 18, 2010 from 6pm to 8pm
Location: Books of Wonder
Street: 18 West 18th Street, NY
City/Town: New York, NY 10011

Sourcebooks Fire invites YOU to attend the launch party for our new Young Adult imprint. In attendence will be Fire authors and friends. All books will be available for purchase, including some that won't be out for a few months. Come and have them all autographed!

The event will also feature music by Tiger Beat--the first ever YA author Rock Group featuring Libba Bray, Daniel Ehrenhaft, Barney Miller, and Natalie Standiford.

(Editorial note: Squee!!! Libba Bray? Natalie Standiford? And...the best editor/amazing YA writer on the planet, Dan Ehrenhaft? IN A BAND? Laura and I are going to be a couple of inarticulate fan girls. Is it awkward to ask your editor to sign something that's not a contract? Wait...don't answer that.)

So, we're officially extending the invitation to all of our amazing blog friends. Want to see us make fools of ourselves in front of legendary authors, editors, agents and other publishing professionals? Or perhaps you'd just like to know once and for all which Roecker sister is the fun one? (Spoiler alert: It's totally Lisa. Duh.) Please, please RSVP here and send us an e-mail or a message on the Ning to let us know if you're coming. We'd love to meet some of you guys in person!

A publishing party in New York??? I would so be there if it wasn't clear across the country. Please bring your flip cam and vlog all about it. Is Source Books putting out your novel? Not that I would expect your novel to put out or anything. I'm jut sayin'.

How could anyone not love a place called Books of Wonder?

So jealous. Don't let anyone sign anything below your forehead.

This sounds like a lot of fun, and I think I might be able to make it! I do have to be in Philly in the morning, but think my afternoon and evening are clear so I am going to see what I can do.

Arg! I SOoooo want to go! Someday, when the kids are older and the cash flow is, well, flowing, I look forward to throwing down everything and getting in on these literary scene events. (*sigh*) For now, I'll live vicariously through you. :)

Can't wait to hear all about it!

Congrats! That is so awesome! You should have some vintage-inspired concert tees made. Then you can tell everyone you're "with the band". Haha! Hope you girls have a fabulous time in NYC- it's one of my dream places to see! :)

Exciting! Too bad I'm on the opposite coast and don't own a private jet for cross-country jaunts. You'll no doubt have many stories to share afterward, which I'll be looking forward to.

Alright, call Sourcebooks and be like, "Listen, you need to have this event on the weekend so that Donna can go. Or like, push it back an hour or two." Make a weekend of it and head down to Philly!

THATS FREAKING AWESOME =DDD I'm super happy for you guys!
NYC was so great, but mind you, finding a grocery store is close to impossible.
Go see the light show at the museum. It will blow your mind.
Also, if Spiderman asks you money for pictures with him... smack him. He deserves it for flirting with my friend ! D8<
That is all.
I wish I could come ~ ; 3;

Oh you're so lucky! I love NYC. At least what I've seen of it during the annual SCBWI conference two years ago (i.e. not a whole lot!).

Have tons of fun for us. And let us know how the band was.
