For the next week and a half we wallowed in a bad, bad way. Here's a preview:
Lisa: Can we e-mail Catherine, do you think?
Laura: I have the feeling that she's read it. I mean she has to have at least started it.
Lisa: We just really need to have a plan in place right now.
Laura: This is awful.
Lisa: I'm not sure I can do this anymore. I'm just not cut out for this.
Laura: I know...I feel the same way.
Rinse and Repeat.

And then again.
Hello, drama queens. In our defense...okay, there's no defending that behavior. We've got a touch of the crazies. Anyway, 8 days later, we got the gold star agent seal of approval. Whoo hoo!
And then, of course, our page proofs for THE LIAR SOCIETY
arrived. And then we shot some footage for the book trailer...and then...and then...and then...What does all this add up to?
Oh, just a big, fat ol' NaNo FAIL.
But, here comes December. Craziest month of the year? Pshaw! Tons of presents left to buy? *shrug* Nothing's been wrapped? Whatever. We have a deadline. A crazy, ridiculous, divorce-inducing, child-services provoking deadline.
Buckle. Up.

I have no idea what you were thinking NaNoing in the first place. Although I suppose you two are crazy anyway, so there is that.

I don't think having your agent like your stuff and doing page proofs should be linked to anything with the word "fail" in it, especially in ALL CAPS!
I NaNo failed this year too. Only my excuse isn't nearly as good as yours.
I failed at NaNo too. But in my defense, I sold a short story, and that totally derailed me for working on longer things like novels cuz when you sell one thing you all of a sudden decide you want to sell more MORE MOOAAARRR HAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAAA and so you get all wrapped up in writing MOOOAAARRR and then whatever you were writing before tends to kind of y'know like fall by the wayside and such. Yes.
I'm giving myself a bye year for NaNo, is all I'm sayin'.
Bring on the craziness of December. It's the most magical craziest time of year.

Ha! Well, I've never "won" NaNo, but I DO have almost 20K written on a novel that I'm in LOVE with so I feel like a winner :)
And getting the gold star from your agent is way better than a little badge saying you wrote 50K of crap, right?!
Um, you did A LOT better than me. I wrote about 10K. The first 4K were on my first project; then I decided I should work on finishing my other novel instead and got about 6K in that. Yeah, total NaNo Fail here...I'm also guessing the all-day "morning" sickness had something to do with lack of desire, but that's still a lame excuse in my book :P
Made it to day 8 with about 20, 000. Then stopped. Restarted in the last week. Ended up writing 13, 800 to win. I know the last 1,000 is crap. :D At least.
