Some authors start writing to win awards.
Some authors start writing to get famous. (HA!)
Some authors start writing to get rich. (Double HA!)
But THIS is why we started writing.
We are so grateful for supportive friends like Steph and for 4th graders everywhere who just haven't found the right book yet.
XOXO,
L&L

Don't call this a comeback
So it’s been a minute. Or 10. Or truthfully more like 2,102,400. At least we think that’s how many minutes there are in 3 years, but let...

Ha! That's awesome. It's funny, too, because Madison just finished fourth grade and she also love it.
What an awesome testimonial to how great TLS really is... btw - been talking it up at summer reading visits to our middle schools and we have a waiting list for this summer already!:) Prob. gonna have to buy extra copies.
Oh, I love this post so much.
That is awesome. :D
Ah, that's awesome!
Yay, this is amazing! I swear, kids just don't know they like to read until they find the right book. I love taking my students to the library and trying to guess what they'll love.
Hurray! This is WAY better than a great review from Kirkus or Booklist or anybody. (Although I know you have great reviews from them, too.)
Sad to say, in my profession, I see lots of fifth grade reluctant readers who have never been handed a book that actually engaged them. Sometimes I want to grab the fourth grade teachers and shake them.
Congrats on the best review you can ever have -- thumbs up from a real YA reader.
"I swear, kids just don't know they like to read until they find the right book." << SO true!!
I'd also like to thank Lisa & Laura again, for not only helping Hailey discover that she DOES like to read, but also, because I scored a new Nook this weekend because of it. ;) She was so into the books I told the hubs "I need to get a new one and give her mine." Score. ;)
Oh, that's so cool! I remember when I fell in love with reading.. it was amazing. :) And no, school books almost never helped.
Yes! The BEST reason to be an author. So so sweet. :)
That is an awesome, awesome story.
I was talking to my mom last weekend about me and my siblings becoming readers. She said, "I remember for each of you that you found a book that you couldn't put down. Before then, reading was just something you did. But, after then, it was a passion. Just like magic."
I totally agree.
This is exactly why we should write. Fame and fortune can't come close to how this would make me feel.
I got chills reading that post!!! Totally, totally awesome :)
That post was awesome! I can only imagine how much that made your day/year/decade. Great job.
