So you've had a bad day...

You know what? I'm having a really, really craptastic day (and I'm not alone...). My problems are really lame and minor in the grand scheme of things, so please don't waste your pity on me. Unless as a result of your pity you'd like to send Twizzlers or prosecco. In that case, e-mail me for my address and let's throw a pity party!

The good news is that I'm pretty good at cheering myself up.

This little clip is a pretty good start:

Add in a carton of this:

And a few pages of this:

And then I slip my feet into these:

And I usually start to feel a little bit better.

And yes, I'm fully aware that no one over the age of six should be wearing pink Uggs. My friends have staged interventions trying to get me to throw them out, but I love them. They're my depression shoes. You see me in them and you know I'm in a pissy mood. Personally, I think it's good for people to have a little warning.

So, dear blogosphere, (Wow, even when I'm depressed I can still rhyme. Nice.) consider yourself on notice. The pink Uggs are out and I'm all whiney. Feel free to ignore me until I'm back in my regularly scheduled black riding boots.

Ha! Robot insurance. That's a good one. Sorry you're having a bad day! I'm going on a week with no saliva. Even pink Uggs couldn't help me!

i have a mug with a mean face on it.

when my daughter sees me drinking from it - she says: "Uh oh"

when my hubby sees it - he leaves the room. Ps I have one with a smiley face and a crazy face too.

Ha! Love it! Great comfort items. And under no circumstance should you get rid of your pink Uggs. We all need a safety net.

Sorry you're having a bad day. Hope it cheers up for you.

Poor thing...{{Hugs}} Oh, wait, is that annoying? No, I'm kidding. (My mother would smother me in hugs until I couldn't breathe which resulted in laughter and near death experiences, but it was fun) So, I love pity parties, if you want to send me a big Subway sandwich I'll send the Twizzlers.
:0)

I turn to my comfort food, toast with peanut butter and honey and then take a nap. Naps always make me feel better.

You should come over to the farm. That horses are all having a bad day, which means I'M having a bad day. Four hours in and I've been knocked down twice (mud could replace superglue as long as the objects to be glued were thrown in it at high velocity), robe-burned and had all the air knocked out of me...

Oh, and my secret is slowly killing me, just so you know... it's so hard NOT to make coy remarks when you're happy and excited about something that no one else knows...

Mmm, peppermint ice-cream always makes me feel better. Sometimes I think that's my favorite part of this season. I'm such a Scrooge. ;)

Awwww! Pink Uggs!!!!

I see pink Uggs all the time. Course, I live in SoCal, and we kinda have our own fashion sense, so you can't necessarily rely on that.

Oh, and my doctor made me try this supplement called Sam-e (she thinks every female needs to take it), and OMG, that stuff is like the magic cure for Chick-itus (as my husband calls any mood swings related to "girly" issues) Not sure if it would help you or if supplements weird you out (they usually do for me) but if not, consider trying it--it's amazing! And I buy the kind that has glucosamine in it, so I get my mood and joint health in one!

Plus, you know, copious amounts of sugar are always a good way to go.

I'm right there with you. I used to have these orange shoes and I loved them. So you wear those pink Uggs with pride!

And I'm sort of wallowing in the "someone-has-to-die-in-order-for-me-to-feel-better" pool too. Dunno why. It's strange.

I would wear pink Uggs regardless of how I feel.

I wonder if pink Uggs would help me today. lol! You're posts are fun even when you're in a bad mood. I hope your day gets better. The minor problems always seem to multiply until they add up to equal one big frustration! If I could get my hands on Twizzlers out here, I would definitely send you some. :)

We're having a bad day here, too. Both kids are sick and have been throwing up since 1:30 a.m. They're asleep in my bed while I clean up their puke. Not my idea of fun!

I think rubber boots would be more appropriate around here today...

I love the pink Uggs -- and I'm in good company there. See, they ARE a smart fashion choice.

You've got a great mix of comfort supplies. May they work their magic.

Well... Now that I'll have that Daniel Powter song stuck in my head all day... ;-)

I hope you feel better!!! Not that I'm one to follow my own advice, but have you tried going for a quick jog? (Or longer walk?) I really do feel better when I can get my aggression out through exercise. (Again - I rarely do it, haha)

I'm also definitely going to check out that Sam-e stuff that Shannon mentioned!

Well, I'm delighted to hear that so many other people are sharing my crappy week. Cheered me right up. ;)

Oh my gosh, I never thought about robot attack. I'm terrified now! j/k
I'd try the pink Uggs, but my daughter would take them from me and claim them as her own.

Thanks for making me laugh. I hope your day gets better soon!

Hahaha, I think the pink Uggs are a fabulous idea (even though I hate Uggs, so I'd have to pick another warning sign for myself).

Hope your day improves! How can it not with ice cream to help you along?

Katie Anderson said...

I am laughing my head off!!!!!!!!!!!

And pink uggs??? Let me state for the record that all writers SHOULD have a pair. Or at least all princesses, like Laura in her tiara.

Wait. This might be Laura. I hate it when I can't tell you two apart.

Oh how I loved this post. What did the Regulator think of it? I'm sending mine the Old Glory video.

Must be something in the air here in Ohio; I've been a grump since Sunday night.

I should have an outward warning symbol like you do--then hubby would know to avoid me :P

Hoping you're feeling happier soon!

Marlon Brando wore Uggs. Nothing like soft shearling and sweets to make your day better, I say.

LiLa: *invisible blog hugs!* It happens, dude. I hope you feel better soon :). Staying in my bathrobe all day usually helps me. Yay!

Shelli: Holy crap, I want an angry mug now! :D That image cracks me up.

Also, I've never had peppermint ice cream, and feel deprived now.

Those Uggs almost had me puking up the jar of nutella I inhaled because, yep, the craptastics are catchy.

Hope tomorrow is better...

Fabulous! I honestly desperately want a pair of pink uggs now! They look so cute. Also, peppermint ice cream is my favorite yayy, now what would be amazing on a fabulous day is all of those things plus the film Christmas Vacation (it cheers me up).

I hope your day improves :-D

the good news is that the bad crap goes away eventually.

Okay - the pink Uggs are the best and they've GOT to help! Add some sprinkles to the ice cream & I'll send you happy thoughts across the miles!

Christine Fonseca said...

First...LOVE THE PINK UGGS!!! Second, everyone I know is feeling that way today...for totally lame reasons (and yes, by everyone, I mean me). So, I'll slip on my uggs (not pink, but whatev) and whine with ya!

That ice cream is white heaven with little pieces of fresh minty goodness. I can eat a dangerous amount in one sitting.

In fact..I might just have to do that now. THANKS! ;)

Feel better, man. And watch the Christopher Walken SNL if things get too bad. Or, you know, Elf.

Love the pink Uggs. For me it is socks. Or in the summer, ice-cream. Oh, who am I kidding? it is always ice-cream. Cookies and cream. NO low fat. Full Fat. Full cream. Fully wonderful!
