Lisa: So...
Laura: Yeah...
Lisa: Um, how are you? Still married? Lydia still alive and kicking?
Laura: Yeah. You?
Lisa: I started crying last night for no reason. So Ken thinks I'm crazy. Just business as usual.
Laura: PED.
Lisa: Huh?
Laura: Post Edit Depression.
Lisa: Oh, good call. You think they have drugs for this kind of thing? I just don't know what to do with myself.
Laura: I know. Have you tried refreshing email?
Lisa: Yes, I'm doing it right now. It's so wrong, but it feels so right. Kind of like J. Simp's romper.
Laura: If that's not a cry for help, I don't know what is.
*crickets*
Lisa: Yeah. So...
Laura: Um...I guess I'll just talk to you when we get line edits?
Lisa: Yeah, whatever. Wait! What about the blog?
Laura: Can't you just post this conversation? It's riveting.
Lisa: Done.

Oh so THAT'S what it's called ;--)
*reaches for the St. John's Wort*
Have a nice weekend!
PED? That explains EVERYTHING.
This conversation was, indeed, quite riveting. Thank you for another chance to look into the minds of LiLa.
This is riveting, much more so than that frumpy jumper.
HAHAHAHA You two are hilarious.
Ugh. Nothing you could ever experience would be as dreadful as that romper. Seriously.
You girls are too funny!
I think I'm going to do a PhD on post edit depression in fiction writers. Okay, not quite the same topic as my masters thesis (with involved athletes), but at least I can relate. ;)
Haha I'm glad you identified the problem. Cheer up Charlie :)
PED--you'll probably need to see a specialist for proper treatment:-)
Nice. Have a great weekend!
I think there is also PFDD (post first draft depression. And PFDD (post finally done depression) And PQD (post query depression. :)
I think as soon as you decide you're a writer, a doctor oughta put you on anti-depression meds.
Or bi-polar meds.
Keep refreshing!! Something is bound to show up!
*snork* I love you two.
And oh my god, I'm completely traumatized by that romper.
Babies wear rompers. Adults should NOT wear rompers! *shudders*
No rompers, please. Actually, if your blog would be a romper-free zone, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
Shelley
what's a romper? You guys crack me up! Good luck with the post edit depression.
LOL, wow, crotchtastic! Thank you for bringing that to my attention, ladies. ;)
Oh the life of you two. You're silly.
It was actually...riveting.
I also believe that J Simp's romper is a cry for help...maybe Lady Gaga can give her some pointers.
I believe the drug you're looking for is called "prosecco." You're welcome.
Hahahaha--I haven't been around much lately (trolling the blogs I mean) and I needed a LiLa fix. This was PERFECT!
You know what the best cure is? Not that I've gotten there yet, so I'm just guessing, but still... Work on the WIP!!
Riveting indeed :)
You two are such fun.....and a bit quirky!
Haven't heard you mention SCBWI-LA so I'm guessing you're not going? Wish you were so we could meet in person and laugh!
Oh yeah...that romper is all wrong. Yikes!
I fantasize about the day I have a breakdown and all the wonderful drugs I'll get for free. Can't wait!
Once again, can you please pursue getting yourselves signed up to star in a reality show? So, yes, there are things that only writers would get, but aren't there lots of aspiring writers out there? I predict mass appeal regardless.
LOL!! I agree with Lori! Get on TV! Stat. :) You two seriously crack me up! You're my favorite blog to stalk. :)
So, if PED stands for post-editing depression, what do we call pre-editing depression? You know, when you have to come down from your "Yay! I've finished the first draft! high and start hitting delete. repeatedly.
Great post!
Oh NO. There is nothing right about Jessica's romper.
NOTHING.
And I don't know about this PED you have. Personally, I had PEJ: post edit JOY. As in, pure and utter JOY that it was done!!!
Hey, we're sister-authors too! Sistas from another mother...and father. No matter. Kindred spirits.
That you're younger and prettier, we'll try not to hold it against you.
Write on, LiLa - or as we old hens say, right on!
PED. I like it. Currently suffering from it. Refreshing email does not help. Need alternate remedy.
Also, you two are great.
