Two Years Ago Today...

Two sisters sat on the phone and had a long talk.

A talk about their lives. (they sucked)

Their dreams. (they weren't even sure they had any)

And their big idea. (to write a book and get it published)

If we had known then how much hard work it would take to get us where we are today, I'm not sure if we would have had the guts to even start.

But we've come a long way baby.

And if we had to do it all over again, we would.

Now we're soon-to-be-published authors. (March 2011, baby!)

But there are still days where our dreams feel further away than ever.

But two years in and we're still nowhere close to giving up. (mostly because we're not exactly sure what we'd be doing if we weren't doing this)

Plus, you don't just give up on your dreams. (especially when it's taken you this long to figure them out)

What an amazing story. Truly. I give you girls a lot of credit for being brave enough to pursue this dream. It's a testament to your individual drives, as well as your relationship as sisters. Congrats!

Oh, yay. You actually found success relatively quickly. I've heard it takes an average of seven years to get a first publishing contract. Go LiLa!!!

Great post! With this profession, you can't give up. If you do, you fail. And I'm not a failure so I just keep trying. :)

Great post! And two years between deciding to pursue the dream of writing and having a contract is pretty darn good!!

Trust me... once you get published it doesn't feel like the dream came true. It feels like it's just getting started. :)

Nice post. I think "remembering where you came from" and "seeing how far you've come" are two really solid arguments for blogging.

Definitely.
That's why, as much as I feel like a failure right now, my quitting is only half-hearted. I'm not ready to put my pen down yet.

Love your attitudes. Never give up. And March 2011 will be here in the blink of an eye.

speaking of March 2011, isn't it about time you start teasing us about the cover? Or showing us the cover? Or maybe you did that during my hiatus and I'm sounding like an asshat right now. If so, ignore this post.

Don't call this a comeback
