9 Tasks 30 hours

As of 12:30 PM today, I'm on a 30-hour vacation. That's right. My mother-in-law is picking up the kids and I have 30 hours to do whatever I want. I'm more excited than you can even imagine.

Here's my tentative plan:
  1. Buy fabulous baby gift for fabulous friend visiting this weekend.
  2. Find cute outfits for kiddies to wear to wedding rehearsal in September.
  3. Pedicure. Stat. It's necessary, trust me.
  4. Finish fabulous memoir I'm reading and send feedback.
  5. Finish book club book (Julie and Julia) for this Sunday.
  6. Date with husband.
  7. Workout.
  8. Sleep.
  9. Revise first 50 pages of Unclaimed Baggage and write the next chapter.
So, it's pretty ambitious, but that's just how I roll. I thought about adding in some laundry to make it a perfect 10, but I'd totally be setting myself up for failure.

What's on your to do list for the next couple of days?

I wish y'all would sign your posts. I think this might be Laura? We can have a guessing game. Who's weekend is this?

Let's see. I want to see Band Slam with the kids and maybe Time Traveler's wife? Have you seen? I might also cook. No, maybe I'll go out to a cool restaurant with the hubster.

And I'll write of course, cuz I friggin' love my new WIP. (which, btw has been revised like 6 times since you read :) It's even bettah now.

And, that's about it. Play with the kids, of course. But they are getting to the age where they're sorta tired of me.

Go, go, GO!

Aren't you tempted to just pour a nice glass of cab and curl up on the sofa with a book?

Have fun. Treat yourself well!

Oh gosh, I'm desperately jealous of your pedicure. I was thinking about getting one since my toenails are all of NASTY right now. But I am a poor college student, and I can't shell out close to $30 at the moment. :-( Maybe if I save up. Because I really, really want a pedicure. My last one has faded a month ago.

I'm so glad you threw caution to the wind and left the laundry out. I know it must have been tough, what with an odd-numbered list and all. As I am hopped up on all kinds of IVF drugs my list looks a little different. Here are my plans for the next 30 hours:

1. Force Mr. J to wrestle me up some grub since I am plastered to couch.

2. Eat an entire box of Hot Tamales. Movie-sized, at that.

3. Complain for a few minutes. Mr. J asked me last night if I'd like to host a whine and cheese party. I'll whine and he'll eat cheese.

4. Cry over another documentary. Last night it was Barbaro. That poor horse.

5. Ask Mr. J to bring me something every single time he gets up from couch.

6. Sleep, sleep, sleep.

7. Get to work late from oversleeping because drugs make me a zombie.

8. Roll my eyes when one of the assistants says something like, "What are you going to do when you actually get pregnant?"

9. Try not to fall asleep at work again tomorrow. 90 minute nap in office is probably not the high point of my career. I was just going to close my eyes for a second, I promise.

And, that would be 9.

Enjoy your MeCation!

I'm with Ms J. My stressful weekend will be:

Watching Project Runway (It's on right now)and then probably sitting down and watching reruns of the same show a few more times.

Oh - and writing.

Eeeew - I just remembered. I volunteered to host Christmas for my side of the family. I better start cleaning.

Hmmm ...

1) Watch the first disc of True Blood, season 1 (when Netflix ships it).

2) Work on my new baby. (My WIP is in its infancy stage, but it's rolling over and gurgling and wants to start crawling already.)

3) Think some more about going back to the gym. Maybe even work out a plan.

4) Volunteer at PetSmart Saturday, adopting out kitties and puppies and doggies. Hopefully lots of them. :)

5) Maybe catch a movie. Funny People. Time Traveler's Wife. The sky's the limit.

Enjoy your 1 day + 6 hours vacay!

Sounds like you're going to have a blast! My only plans for this weekend are to finish the laundry, finish a book that's overdue at the library (oops!) and take the kids to a museum. We haven't been to one yet this summer so Saturday's the day. Hope you finish all 9 tasks!

Excellent, 30 hours is a long time. Even if you only do one or two things on your list, you still had 30 kid-free hours. Nice.

p.s. Did my sister's notecards make it to you all the way from Australia?

You know, I could do laundry for the next 30 hours and still not be done....so why bother, huh?

But I think I have to help my youngest clean out her junky room before school starts (ugh). Probably I should spend some time writing.....
Row
Make something for dinner that isn't lame.....

Hmmm. I need to stick something really fun in there!!
