The Friday Five Inbox Edition

We've had a happy inbox kind of week. Here are a few highlights:

1. Received an email from BFF who said her cousin texted her from her High School Strategic Reading class. One of her classmates was doing a book talk on Liar Society and she was like, "I KNOW THEM!" Student gave it a 9/10 and said it was "really good." Best. News. Ever.

2. A few people have emailed with their reactions to the book since it's been out. It's so cool when readers take the time to do this. Not only do they make us cry (we're a tad sensitive up in here), but they take the week to a whole new level. We know how busy everyone is. We seriously feel honored.

3. Publicist Kay is amazing. So nice and responsive and enthusiastic and, and, and. We love her.

4. We learned this week that a girl who HATES reading flew through The Liar Society. Mission accomplished.

5. No week would be complete without emails of the random variety containing very few words (Interesting. or Have you seen this? or Check it.) and a link. Favorite emails ever. Here's one that the ever amazing Loretta Nyhan sent our way. Fascinating, no?

What went down in your inbox this week?

PS: This week was also an inbox spring cleaning of sorts and we're 110% positive that we've missed interviews or books we were supposed to mail out or other extremely important commitments. If we've dropped the ball in any way, shape or form, PLEASE let us know! It makes us sick to think we've missed something.

PPS: Lisa is going to be in Dayton signing The Liar Society on April 1st with JULIE KAGAWA author of The Iron Queen, JULIA KARR, author of XVI, MARA PURNHAGEN, author of One Hundred Candles, MARIA V. SNYDER, author of Outside In and SARA BENNET WEALER, author of Rival. Click here for details. She's going to be flying solo for the first time (that slacker Laura has a wedding) and would love to see some familiar faces!

Okay, I'm just glad my email didn't come off as creepy online stalker. I adored your book and I will totally admit I am a really critical reader. LS had such an enjoyable voice. The laughs seriously just kept coming. Too many moments to highlight them all. The mystery kept me tearing through the pages. And I didn't realize how emotionally tied to Kate I was until some of the tough moments hit. Because you made her SO likable and personable, I found I cared about her immensely and didn't even realize it. Your supporting cast totally reminded me of a John Hughes movie. My husband kept freaking out and how quickly I was turning pages. You guys did everything right and then some. I am spreading the word to everyone I know to read this book already!!!

Sounds like an awesome week! And isn't that what we want - to hear that some random person loved our book? Have fun at the signing.

Emails from readers has got to be the most rewarding thing ever. Never even thought about it!

Also, I started reading LIAR SOCIETY again last night. Curious. Do the authors ever know anything about the models that end up on their covers? You have the face of Kate, but.....?

I wish I could make it to Dayton for that signing!

Yay for cool emails! Mine was interesting this week - reconnected with some old friends. Pretty cool. :)

I have the Liar Society sitting in front of my computer at home. I want to read it so bad, but my sister is holding it hostage until I meet my writing goal. GAH.

So happy for you that you got someone reading!
Personally, if I were to get published, I don't think anything would give me warm, fuzzy feelings as much as getting someone to read.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a trip to Ohio to plan.

Don't call this a comeback

So it’s been a minute. Or 10. Or truthfully more like 2,102,400. At least we think that’s how many minutes there are in 3 years, but let...
