This weekend was all about Ben and I'm happy to report that his 1st birthday party was a success....Well, as long as you consider 3 hours of complete and utter chaos a success.
I've come to the conclusion that I sort of suck at parties. I'm too much of a control freak to ignore the fact that Jack is on his 8th juice box or to let Mia walk around with frosting smeared in her hair.
Of course, I did allow this to happen....
For almost two entire minutes before I tossed him into the bath.
Progress.

Don't call this a comeback
So it’s been a minute. Or 10. Or truthfully more like 2,102,400. At least we think that’s how many minutes there are in 3 years, but let...

Yes you must allow those things to happen on birthdays. The birthday parties are so much fun when they're young. Such cute pictures too!
Gosh, time flies. Glad you had a wonderful weekend and those are great pictures.
OMG, I can't believe it's been a year since he was born. He looks like an awesome little dude. And hey, at least you were smart enough to give him cake sans shirt. My daughter was a gooey mess on her first birthday (18 years ago... :shudder:).
Happy Birthday Ben! I remember first birthdays (not mine!)... sigh! Have to agree with B.E.--the sans shirt cake-a-thon is a good idea!!!!
Happy birthday, sweet boy -- and Mama, too. Hope the day was wonderful, and that you're enjoying cake for breakfast today!
So, so sweet! I fail at parties, too. Especially the older my kids have gotten. Their friends at my house touching things?? Ugh.
We used to have a tradition in our family where the birthday child was allowed to like the bowl the cake batter was mixed in. There are dozens of pictures of us kids with shiny metal bowls over our heads. :)
Glad to hear the party was a success! Happy Birthday, Ben! Pics are so cute.
Ahhh such cute pictures! Judging by that 2nd pic I'd say Ben felt like it was a total success.
It reminds me of how my husband eats. Ok, not really...close.
I'm noting no pictures of the bevy of guests invited to this soiree...he napped through that part, didn't he?
Happy B-day Ben!
That last pic is awesome! And you were so smart to take his clothes off. When Anthony turned one in August, we had it at the park so we didn't take his clothes off. I did bring along spares so after he finished his cake, we changed him into clean clothes.
What a cutie!
Happy Birthday, sweet boy!
What a sweetie! Looks like he had a great time! :)
Happy Birthday, Ben!
Oh, and mama - you look mah-velous!
