Winter Wallop

Thanks to the snow-pocalypse that is currently hovering over Ohio, I can't watch TV without feeling like it's the end of the world. And since I feel like it's the end of the world, I can't write. And since I can't write, I've been reading "articles" on UsWeekly, thumbing through magazines to find a pic to bring to the salon on Tuesday (barring they don't close permanently because of the snow) and Christmas shopping online (because according to Hollie Strano, we're going to be snowed in indefinitely).

There's nothing meteorologists love more than a storm system (and throwing around words like "wallop," "batter," "threat") and nothing I love more than an excuse.

So, sit back, grab a blanket and a cup of tea and enjoy. Thanks to the Northeast Ohio Snow Storm Blog, you can get up-to-date information about the storm. It's like you live here!

Ooh thanks for the link to the blog - I didn't know it existed! I refuse to watch the weather reports because of how sensationalized they are. It's Cleveland, it's winter, and it's snowing. You would think we'd never had snow before. So it's the more neutral internet reports for me!

Did you see what happened to the Metrodom in Minneapolis? Just do a youtube search for Metrodome roof collapse. You would think this would be a big deal, but nope, it's happened 5 times before.

Yeah, but it made the Patriots' game that much better, last night. LOL

No, I totally get you. It's been raining here for over 28hrs. It's a dang good thing it's not snow! We'd be buried. But, living in Maine, I'm sure it's just waiting....

Ha...I forget you're in OH too. We're covered here.

No need to pretend... I'm buried, too. *le sigh*

No offense but please oh please don't crawl up to New England! I get buried with the white crap just because I live on a mountain! Snow, give a girl a break lol.

Did Ohio get more snow then PA? Because as much as our weathermen would like to say we had a "Snow Event" there's only about two inches on the ground.

I guess that's the snow I'm getting now. Right now it's only flurries, and -- hey, it just stopped. Now I'm sad.

ooh yeah, that storm passed through MN on its way to you. Enjoy it, because it was both awesome and sucky all wrapped up in one cold blustery package

It's times like these I don't miss going back home :P I was supposed to go up for a wedding this past weekend but decided not to based on the snow storm that hit here in SW Ohio as well as there. Texted my sis this morning and she said that it was white-out conditions out.

I wish I could send the sun and blue skies up there! It's still friggin freezing here but there's nothing falling from the sky!

Hope you can dig out soon! But seems like you have a good game plan for the meanwhile anyway. As long as the heat keeps up, and the blankets are snuggly, that is!

Yep, me, too - I'm in WI (close to the MN border) and we got 22 inches in 24 hours, plus a few more outside of that time. 35 below temp. today.

Perfect for writing, right? Nope, instead I worry about the roads, the driveway, my husband at work, my heat going down, etc, etc. Good luck!!

Stay warm! Maybe if you pretend your six, it will seem like an amazing adventure.

It is currently 55 degrees here and sunny. I may have to move farther south to get out of this cold weather.

All I want right now is a blankie, my couch, and a good book.

Oh, but that's kind of fun right before Christmas! I was all excited about having a white Christmas, because we got this huge blizzard about two weeks ago (dropped almost two feet in one night/morning). But then... it all melted! It's only been raining ever since. Gah! Lame UT weather. I sure hope we can get some of your snow troubles out this way and let you guys get unburied. ;)

I've been waiting for some snow. All we've gotten so far is flurries. At this rate no white Christmas. :( I live in Pa so there should be snow!

Just you wait, I'll be eating my words and we'll have a massive blizzard and hubby will have to sleep over at work. A little snow would be nice, not two feet.

WOW!

I know it's freezing down here in Ga (much colder than it usually is this time of year), so I can't imagine how bad it is up there!

Krispy said...

Wow, that's intense...which makes it even MORE UNBELIEVABLE that it was 80 degrees the past three days here. Srsly. Doesn't feel like winter OR Christmas. On the other hand, snow storm of doom = scary. :( STAY WARM!!!

Cincy didn't get it as bad as Cleveland. But yes, weather people freak out over snow sometimes.

I moved here from Florida and went from one extreme to another. Hurricanes are coming, run from your lives! to snow is here, STAY INDOORS!

Hilarious.

I hope you write after the end of the world passes us by.

We here in Toledo got pounded with about a foot of snow between Sunday-Monday. Thankfully, most of it is plowed into massive piles by now. It's the arctic out there!

LOL - as a fellow Clevelander, I was kind of disappointed that we were all snowed in up to our waists this morning after all the panic about the coming snowpocalypse.

I hate snow, but I would really love a snow day from work :)

Don't call this a comeback

So it’s been a minute. Or 10. Or truthfully more like 2,102,400. At least we think that’s how many minutes there are in 3 years, but let...
